Cincuenta millones de personas es lo que se calcula que hablan español en los Estados Unidos y esto lo convierte en el segundo país con más hispanohablantes en el mundo, por supuesto después de México que tiene más de cien millones según las estadísticas correspondientes.
Todos sabemos del español que se habla en la Unión Americana donde somos muchos los que luchamos por mantenerlo vivo y en buenas condiciones a pesar de lo estropeado que lo dejan las redes sociales, las nuevas generaciones y los que carecen de identidad y orgullo por sus raíces.
He escuchado gente desesperada por hablar un buen español y como en ocasiones piensan que no lo encuentran en Estados Unidos van al viejo continente para absorber, según ellos, un español puro. Pues a toda esa gente yo le sugiero que desempaquen y que analicen muy bien a dónde irían porque esa creencia de que en todo España se habla el mejor y más correcto español, está simple y sencillamente mal.
Tan solo en Barcelona, el idioma que predomina es el catalán y a los que hablan español los tienen que buscar debajo de las piedras porque no abundan. Hablan Catañol, que viene siendo una mezcla del catalán y el español.
El Catañol es un fenómeno similar al espanglish en los Estados Unidos cuya mezcla es el inglés y el español mal formados y hablados. Afortunadamente para los amigos de por allá, defensores de los buenos idiomas, el Catañol no ha sido reconocido por el diccionario mayor de la lengua de Cervantes. Sin embargo en pequeños pueblos y áreas aledañas este fenómeno es visible y es también una gran decepción para los turistas que gastan miles de euros por ir hasta el otro lado del mundo para practicar un “buen español”.
Para tener una idea del famoso catalán les comparto mi investigación en Wikipedia que dice que es una lengua romance occidental que viene del latín vulgar y se habla en muchos territorios de España, empezando por Cataluña, España. De ahí surge su contaminación lingüística que pone en peligro la pureza de los idiomas.
En todos lados se cuecen habas, dice el dicho que básicamente es que en todos lados es lo mismo con la contaminación de idiomas con países vecinos cuya lengua es diferente. Tal es el caso de Brasil que tiene como lengua oficial el portugués, pero debido a sus vecinos hispanohablantes en Sudamérica existe el fenómeno llamado “portuñol”, o sea la mezcla del portugués con el español.
El portuñol es una nueva herramienta lingüística que nace en la región conocida como “la triple frontera” (Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay). Para los del buen decir, del buen hablar, es un estilo de muy mal gusto, sin embargo para las nuevas generaciones, es algo espontáneo, curioso y hasta creativo.
Creo que es muy difícil que encontremos países que sean monolingües, donde solo se hable una lengua y nada mas, pues estamos invadidos por fenómenos sociales. Incluso nosotros mismos los humanos nos dejamos atrapar por estas modalidades y damos crecimiento a nuevos léxicos.
Sin embargo, considero que el tener una disciplina lingüística es como tener convicción y autonomía. Si sabemos que tal o cual vocablo se escucha mal, la solución es evitarlo y de esta manera promover el buen uso de los idiomas en todos los ángulos de nuestra sociedad. Somos lo que hablamos. Así que, hablemos bien en cualquier idioma.
