El Gobierno del Estado en coordinación con la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León y el Instituto Nacional de Ecología y Cambio Climático (INECC) iniciaron este viernes una campaña para determinar el perfil de ozono en el Área Metropolitana de Monterrey.
A través de un globo cautivo, durante dos días se monitoreará la concentración de ozono y se determinarán los perfiles verticales de los parámetros meteorológicos como la temperatura, humedad relativa, velocidad y dirección del viento, hasta mil metros de altura.
Fernando Gutiérrez Moreno, Secretario de Desarrollo Sustentable, mencionó que el ozono es un contaminante secundario, es decir, que no lo genera nadie en particular, sino que surge por una reacción fotoquímica de hidrocarburos y óxidos de nitrógeno que provienen de combustiones de altas temperaturas que contaminan nitrógeno en el aire, así como compuestos volátiles, automóviles cuando emiten óxido de nitrógeno, los combustibles no consumidos completamente y la acción del sol.
“Lo que se necesita es hacer un diagnóstico de cómo se comporta este en la parte del perfil vertical y por este motivo se estará mandando esta sonda de ozono a diferentes horas del día”, dijo el funcionario estatal.
El globo cautivo de 9 metros cúbicos será lanzado de 11:00 a las 12:00 horas y de las 16:00 a las 17:00 horas, en intervalos de 100 metros hasta alcanzar los mil metros de altura, realizando mediciones durante 3 minutos en cada intervalo.
Además de las mediciones con el globo cautivo se lanzarán dos radiosondas por día a las 8:30 y 17:00 horas, ancladas a un globo meteorológico de color blanco con un diámetro de 130 centímetros. Las radiosondas pueden alcanzar una altura de hasta 18 kilómetros antes de estallar.
Con las radiosondas se medirá presión, temperatura y humedad relativa y se transmitirá a un aparato receptor/decodificador fijo en superficie que almacena todas las variables en tiempo real.
En el inicio de la campaña estuvieron Sergio Fernández Delgadillo, Secretario de Desarrollo Sustentable de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León; Amparo Martínez Arroyo, Directora General del INECC; y Víctor Hugo Páramo, Coordinador General de Investigación INECC.
