Con la inauguración de los laboratorios en Navegación y Manufactura Aditiva de Metales, la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León celebró el quinto aniversario del Centro de Investigación e Innovación en Ingeniería Aeronáutica (CIIIA) y los primeros 10 años del Programa Educativo de Ingeniería en Aeronáutica.
Estudiantes, profesores y directivos de la Facultad de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica, así como representantes de empresas del sector aeronáutico, se reunieron en las instalaciones del CIIIA para reflexionar sobre los avances que, desde el 2007, han logrado en la materia.
En el encuentro, dieron a conocer dos nuevos laboratorios que abrirán paso a líneas de investigación que contribuyan al desarrollo de este mercado.
“Cada vez más la ingeniería se vuelve un factor determinante para transformar a la sociedad, y eso es en lo que debemos seguir avanzando”, señaló el director de la FIME, Jaime Castillo Elizondo.
Los nuevos espacios se suman a los 15 laboratorios con los que cuenta el CIIIA, mismos que atienden líneas específicas como diseño, aerodinámica, materiales avanzados, simulación, análisis de fallas, corrosión, entre otros.
“Se está trabajando y estamos cultivando a las nuevas generaciones, orientado siempre hacia la cultura de la innovación; por eso el apoyo incondicional de tener más laboratorios de investigación, que los muchachos tengan acceso a tecnología de última generación”, aseguró el Rector de la UANL, Rogelio Garza Rivera.
Laboratorios son referente nacional e internacional
El Laboratorio de Navegación de la UANL es único en Latinoamérica. En operación desde el 2016, se utiliza para realizar investigación sobre el guiado y navegación de vehículos aéreos no tripulados y prototipos de aeronaves a escala.
Específicamente se estudian áreas avanzadas de la física de vuelo, sistemas multiagentes, diseño de sistemas de navegación y autopilotos.
“Se creó para estudiar el tema de la autonomía y el rango, que es lo que se está estudiando en las universidades del mundo.
“Nosotros diseñamos los algoritmos de navegación para que los vehículos sean totalmente autónomos y cooperen entre ellos”, explicó Octavio García Salazar, coordinador del laboratorio.
El espacio tuvo una inversión de cuatro millones de pesos a cargo de la FIME y el CONACYT; consiste en un sistema de visión 3D Vicon de alta precisión, sistemas inerciales, mini computadoras de vuelo y vehículos aéreos no tripulados de ala fija y multirotores.
En tanto, el Laboratorio de Manufactura Aditiva de Metales está integrado por tecnología que permite fabricar piezas tridimensionales completamente funcionales desde un modelo CAD, en el que el componente se manufactura capa por capa.
Una de las ventajas de esta tecnología es que permite producir con gran rapidez componentes funcionales. Si un diseñador manda un diseño nuevo, en menos de 48 horas ya tiene el componente en sus manos y listo para ser utilizado; otras tecnologías de manufactura convencional tardan hasta semanas.
Este equipo fue adquirido con financiamiento del CONACYT, bajo el Programa de Apoyos Complementarios para Infraestructura Científica y Tecnológica, del cual se obtuvieron 10 millones de pesos. La FIME a través de proyectos con empresas, aportó tres millones de pesos.
También se inauguró la remodelación de la sala PLM 2, que cuenta con equipos de cómputo de vanguardia y que brinda servicios de diseño, análisis y manufactura asistida por computadora a la industria.
En la celebración enmarcada en el 70 aniversario de la FIME, estuvo presente el Director de la Agencia Espacial Mexicana, Francisco Mendieta Jiménez; el delegado regional noreste del CONACYT, Ricardo Viramontes Brown; el Subsecretario de Industria, Comercio y Servicios del Estado, Lorenzo Aguilar Camelo; el Director General del Grupo LOMEX, Humberto Lobo de la Garza; el Director Ejecutivo de Vivaerobus, Juan Carlos Zuazua; y el Presidente del Consejo de Administración del Aeropuerto del Norte, David Garza Herrera.
Asimismo la Directora de Investigación de la UANL, Patricia Zambrano Robledo, entre otras autoridades académicas y empresariales que aprovecharon el encuentro para develar la Galería de Coordinadores Académicos de la Licenciatura en Ingeniería Aeronáutica, actualmente a cargo de Ulises Matías García Pérez.
