Contagiar y motivar a los estudiantes de la UANL a formarse el hábito de la lectura llevó a los profesores y directivos de la Facultad de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica a promover: “Un Día para leer… ¿y los demás también?” durante su 65 Aniversario.
Este evento efectuado el pasado 23 de octubre tuvo un gran eco entre los alumnos y profesores de FIME y estudiantes de otras facultades de la UANL.
La organizadora de este evento, Verónica Medina Garza, coordinadora de la Biblioteca Ing. Guadalupe E. Cedillo Garza, afirmó que por indicaciones del director de la facultad de FIME, Esteban Báez Villarreal, se promueve un Día para Leer… con el apoyo de diferentes casas editoras del país y de Estados Unidos principalmente.
Para la exposición se instalaron 18 stands donde participaron editores como Book Shop, North America Books, Pearson, IHS, McGraw Hills, Reverté, Cengage Learning y Librería Universitaria.
Este evento organizado dentro del 65 aniversario de la fundación de FIME tuvo una gran participación estudiantil, indicó Verónica Medina, quien además manifestó que ya cuentan con una base de datos en la infoteca de la facultad de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica para que los estudiantes puedan accesar a e-books desde sus cuentas de correo electrónico.
Comentó que esta base de datos servirá a profesores y alumnos a tener acceso al catálogo electrónico, a literatura y al programa de Adopta un Libro.
Unos mil 200 alumnos adoptaron un libro durante la exposición con la idea que lean diferentes obras en sus casas y luego puedan compartir esos libros con otros alumnos de la facultad.
Tanto el director de FIME, Esteban Báez Villarreal, gran jugador de fútbol americano en la década de los 60, como Felipe de Jesús Díaz Morales, subdirector Administrativo; Arnulfo Treviño Cubero, subdirector Académico, Hugo Rivas Lozano, subdirector de Asuntos Estudiantiles; Rafael Colas Ortiz, director del CIDIT; Juan Ángel Garza, Maestro Consejero de FIME y Esther Díaz Ramírez, maestra de ceremonias destacaron los logros de los 65 años de esta facultad.
El director de FIME, Esteban Báez Villarreal mostró su agradecimiento al rector de la UANL, Jesús Áncer Rodríguez y al secretario general de la UANL, Rogelio Garza, por todo el apoyo otorgado a esta facultad para su fortalecimiento académico y científico.
