La Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León inició las operaciones de tres espacios clínicos en la Facultad de Odontología, para ampliar los servicios de salud bucodental de la población nuevoleonesa, con atención especial para pacientes con discapacidad.
El Rector Jesús Ancer Rodríguez encabezó la inauguración de estos espacios, en compañía de la doctora Rosa Isela Sánchez Nájera, Directora de la Facultad de Odontología y el doctor Miguel García Cantú, Responsable de Enlace de la Fundación UANL con la institución.
La Facultad de Odontología de la UANL tiene cifras de atención de gran impacto social: diariamente realizan mil 200 estudios de rayos x y atienden a 70 pacientes al día en servicios de odontología avanzada, de los cuales 4 son personas con discapacidad, aunado a cerca de 10 mil más en el área de odontología integral.
Para ofrecer servicios de atención en salud bucal de alta calidad, se ha realizado una inversión en equipamiento de 6.2 millones de pesos para la compra e instalación de 30 unidades dentales en la Clínica de Odontología Integral, 10 espacios de atención en la Clínica de la Maestría en Odontología Avanzada y siete equipos para realizar estudios en la Clínica de Rayos X.
Formalizan inversiones en equipamiento
Actualmente, la Facultad de Odontología de la UANL realiza más de 210 mil consultas por año para la población del estado, en donde ofrece un total de 141 mil 551 tratamientos; ha llevado a cabo 75 brigadas comunitarias para brindar servicio a más de 8 mil pacientes y realizando cerca de 14 mil trabajos clínicos.
“Nuestra facultad vive una cultura del esfuerzo porque trabajamos en base a proyectos y planeación estratégica; hoy que estamos celebrando 75 años de vida, orgullosos contamos con 6 edificios y 2 módulos periféricos, atendemos a 3 mil alumnos y contamos con 412 profesores de pregrado y posgrado que cumplen con estándares de calidad indiscutibles”, explicó la doctora Rosa Isela Sánchez Nájera.
La Directiva del plantel destacó el ánimo que tiene toda la comunidad de la Facultad de Odontología por estar en el nivel de los más exigentes.
“Estamos trabajando por obtener la Acreditación Internacional Latinoamericana y estamos muy cerca de lograr la certificación de nuestras 22 clínicas por parte del Consejo de Salubridad General y por ese motivo nos invitan a ser portavoz de este programa a fin de que se multiplique en otras escuelas y cambiemos la cultura de trabajo de los estudiantes”, agregó.
Los siete equipos de Rayos X, que se obtuvo gracias a un donativo otorgado por la Fundación UANL, permitirán la atención con calidad de 200 pacientes diarios; en esta clínica se cuenta además con aparatos de radiografía panorámica.
La Clínica de la Maestría en Odontología Avanzada abrió sus puertas en 2013 cuando inició el programa que hoy está registrado en el Padrón Nacional de Posgrados de Calidad (PNPC); esta nueva área es una extensión de la clínica y se ubica en la planta baja del edificio central para poder atender a las personas con alguna discapacidad física.
Y en la Clínica de Odontología Integral se instalaron 40 nuevos equipos dentales, es un espacio con 20 años de existencia, pero que nunca había podido ser remodelado; ahí se atiende a poco más de 10 mil pacientes y se realizan 9 mil 500 tratamientos. Es el área en donde se realizan coronas, puentes, endodoncias, ortodoncias y periodoncias.
Por su parte, el rector de la UANL destacó la obtención de la certificación ya que además de mantener los servicios de calidad de la Facultad de Odontología en estándares internacionales, éste logro impacta directamente en los alumnos que estudian en la institución, así como en los miles de pacientes que diariamente se atienden en sus instalaciones.
“Los indicadores que tiene esta Facultad son muy útiles como institución para posicionarnos en los rankings mundiales, así que el trabajo debe ser permanente; no podemos bajar la guardia porque las exigencias son cada vez mayores. La certificación que van a recibir del Consejo de Salubridad General es una oportunidad de transitar en indicadores que van a impactar en sus 3 mil alumnos y en la atención hacia los 200 mil pacientes que atienden al año”, destacó el Rector Jesús Ancer Rodríguez.
El Ejecutivo universitario agregó la extensión del trabajo de profesores y alumnos es reconocido en la comunidad a través de sus dos clínicas periféricas y 22 clínicas comunitarias, “por eso insisto en que nuestra Facultad de Odontología es la mejor del País, sus indicadores lo demuestra y hay que mantenerlos”, indicó.
