En estas elecciones de 2018 en el país, los jóvenes menores de 29 años pueden influir decisivamente en el resultado, de acuerdo con Javier Pérez-Rolón, politólogo del Colegio de México.
En su participación en el primer día del ciclo Vota Generación, realizado este miércoles en la Prepa UDEM Unidad San Pedro, el también secretario técnico del Consejo Ciudadano de Seguridad Pública de Nuevo León y catedrático de la Universidad de Monterrey estableció que 82 millones de mexicanos pueden votar, pero las estadísticas hacen suponer que solo 45 millones lo harán.
Durante su conferencia “Decisión 2018: ¿qué escogeremos?”, en el Aula Polivalente, Pérez-Rolón subrayó a los asistentes que no solo les corresponde participar, sino también compartir lo que saben, pues no todos tienen el privilegio de la educación ni acceso a la información.
El evento Vota Generación surgió como iniciativa de los alumnos de cuarto semestre de Prepa UDEM para combatir la desinformación y apatía que pueda existir respecto al proceso electoral 2018, sobre todo entre jóvenes que van a poder votar por primera vez.
Los alumnos adoptaron la iniciativa como un proyecto APSE (Aprendizaje en el Servicio) para compartir lo que han investigado poniendo en práctica las habilidades adquiridas en la prepa y apoyándose en los expertos.
Tras realizar varias encuestas entre sus compañeros, los alumnos diseñaron el proyecto y solicitaron apoyo a los directivos de la Prepa, al considerar que parte de su compromiso social es emitir un voto informado para ser agentes de cambio.
Posteriormente, se realizó el taller interactivo “¿Qué hacen los funcionarios/empleados que vamos a elegir?”, en el que los asistentes formaron mesas de trabajo y fueron asesorados por los alumnos Carlos Parás Zorrilla (de Licenciado en Derecho), Adriana Lucía Flores Quiroga (de Licenciado en Ciencias Políticas y Gobernanza), Emanuel Valladares Hernández (de Licenciado en Relaciones Internacionales) y Pilar Adame de la Fuente (de Licenciado en Ciencias Políticas y Gobernanza), moderados por el maestro Javier Pérez-Rolón.
Durante este jueves se desarrolló el panel de discusión “Iniciativas juveniles ante los fake news en la era digital: retos, alternativas informativas y recomendaciones para 2018”.
En esta mesa de trabajo, participaron VOTAnero (plataforma de Facebook de alumnas de Licenciado de Ciencias de la Información y Comunicación); Instagram Informativo (Adriana Lucía Flores Quiroga, alumna de Licenciado en Ciencias Políticas y Gobernanza); y Altavozmx (sitio web y redes sociales con fines informativos y de debate informado, dirigido a jóvenes universitarios, propiedad de José Luis Garnica, ExaUDEM 2014 de Licenciado en Estudios Internacionales).
One other thing I would like to express is that instead of trying to match all your online degree classes on days and nights that you complete work (considering that people are worn out when they go back home), try to have most of your classes on the saturdays and sundays and only a couple courses in weekdays, even if it means a little time away from your saturday and sunday.
