En un hecho sin precedentes, la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León firmó un convenio de colaboración académica y de investigación con la Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional, para poner en marcha un proyecto que permitirá la generación de conocimiento sobre la corrosión bajo esfuerzos aerodinámicos en materiales aeroespaciales y la formación de recursos humanos de alto nivel.
Firmaron esta alianza el General de División Piloto Aviador Diplomado de Estado Mayor Aéreo, Leonardo González García, Comandante de la Fuerza Aérea Mexicana y el Rector Jesús Ancer Rodríguez; testigo de este acto fue el maestro Esteban Báez Villarreal, director de la Facultad de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica, y el General de Brigada Diplomado de Estado Mayor, Alfredo Flores Gómez, Comandante de la Séptima Zona Militar.
Académicos del Centro de Investigación e Innovación en Ingeniería Aeronáutica (CIIIA-FIME) diseñarán un túnel de viento con características aerodinámicas para determinar los efectos de corrosión bajo esfuerzos de materiales aeroespaciales, ya que uno de los problemas más grandes que presentan las aeronaves es precisamente la corrosión.
Formalizan alianza académica
Los materiales que conforman las estructuras de las aeronaves tienden a sufrir fragilización debido a los esfuerzos generados, esto ocasiona que el deterioro sea severo y se generen grietas y fracturas; en cuanto a la cubierta de las aeronaves, se detecta corrosión y erosión debido al ambiente químico dinámico de la atmósfera, provocando que se arranque material de la superficie ocasionando picaduras.
“Nuestra colaboración consiste en analizar el comportamiento de los materiales aeroespaciales en condiciones de esfuerzo y ambiente químico que generen corrosión bajo esfuerzos; de esta forma se podrán desarrollar, mejorar y proteger los materiales aeroespaciales, además de bajar costos de mantenimiento y alargar la vida útil de los componentes estructurales”, justificó el maestro Esteban Báez Villarreal.
Otras líneas de investigación que se desarrollarán gracias a esta alianza son el diseño y desarrollo de aeronaves no tripuladas completamente instrumentadas para diferentes aplicaciones de inspección aérea y monitoreo; así como proyectos de blindaje de partes aeronáuticas y de sistemas de propulsión que traerán un gran desarrollo en conocimiento y avance científico para México.
“Para la Secretaría de las Defensa Nacional es muy satisfactorio la firma de este convenio, es una colaboración en la educación de los jóvenes mexicanos para el desarrollo de la industria aeroespacial; es importante para avanzar en proyectos de investigación principalmente en el mantenimiento de las aeronaves y los efectos de la corrosión”, pronunció Leonardo González García, Comandante de la Fuerza Aérea Mexicana.
El General de División Piloto Aviador Diplomado de Estado Mayor Aéreo agregó que la educación y desarrollo de los técnicos profesionales mexicanos en el mantenimiento de las aeronaves siempre será muy benéfico para el país, “porque implica una autonomía en el mantenimiento y desarrollo de la industria aeronáutica, depender menos de los especialistas extranjeros en estas áreas; es el primer convenio que firmamos con estas características, lo cual es muy satisfactorio y un orgullo para nosotros”.
El doctor Jesús Ancer Rodríguez expresó que la industria aeronáutica en México por muchos años se había mantenido estática, sin embargo hoy es vista como un área de oportunidad y la Máxima Casa de Estudios está dirigiendo sus esfuerzos para impulsar su desarrollo.
“En este centro de investigación se trabajan proyectos en materia de propulsión, sustentación y navegación; estamos asociados con los países más avanzados en este tema como es Chile, Brasil, Francia y se está concretando un convenio con Canadá. En la Universidad estamos convencidos de que cuando un país invierte en educación, en ciencia y tecnología el futuro es bueno”, pronunció el Rector de la UANL.
Ancer Rodríguez aseguró que las universidades actuales están pensando no sólo en dar academia en el aula, sino trasladar a los alumnos a los laboratorios y generar conocimiento que coloque al país hacia adelante, hacerlo competitivo.
Es importante destacar que el Centro de Investigación e Innovación en Ingeniería Aeronáutica tiene un año trabajando en conjunto con la Fuerza Aérea Mexicana para concretar proyectos para la generación del conocimiento y desarrollo tecnológico, relación que se formaliza con la firma de convenio que tuvo lugar el 2 de noviembre en la Sala Polivalente del CIIIA/UANL.
